Halo Master Chief Xbox 360 Game Icon

This piece was custom made for a fan of the Halo game for the Xbox 360. The cutomer's son really loved the game so he had this piece made. He's HUGE! Standing about 7 feet tall. It's all hand cast bronze and hand painted with a special patina. It's probably one of the most unique pieces we've ever done. It's certainly an attention getter. This bronze statue really represents the unlimited possibilities this metal has. You can create any kind of animal, person, or object in any size and it will last forever!

T-Rex featured at Dino Days in the Delaware Museum of Natural History

We recently donated a lifesize T-Rex skull, and some of our other fossil skulls, to the Delaware Museum of Natural History for their Dino Days exibit. We were pleasantly surprised when they sent us their quarterly program and our T-Rex was on the cover! They also did a little write up about us on the inside. We're one of only a very few companies that makes fossil skulls in bronze, most are made from resin, and we're certainly the only one that makes these sculptures available at the prices we offer. Most resin castings cost more than one of our bronze skulls. We like ours because it allows people to interact and touch them without fear of damage.

10 Famous Historical Bronze Sculpture Statues

There are many beautiful bronze statues from antiquity still around today. Some are more than 2000 years old. It's a testiment to the quality and prestige of bronze. If you're thinking of purchasing a bronze sculpture or fountain for your garden, home, or public area, just keep these in mind if you're wondering how long they'll last.

1. Mermaid of Copenhagen

The statue of The Little Mermaid (Den lille havfrue in Danish) sits on a rock in the Copenhagen harbour at Langelinie. This small and unimposing statue is a Copenhagen icon and a major tourist attraction.

The statue was commissioned in 1909 by Carl Jacobsen, son of the founder of Carlsberg, who had been fascinated by a ballet about the fairytale in Copenhagen’s Royal Theatre and asked the primaballerina, Ellen Price, to model for the statue. The sculptor Edvard Eriksen created the statue, which was unveiled on 23 August 1913.

2. Capitoline Wolf

The bronze Capitoline Wolf in the Museo Nuovo in the Palazzo dei Conservatori on the Campidoglio (the ancient Capitoline Hill) —where it has been housed since 1473 — is one of the icons of the founding of Rome. When the twins Romulus and Remus's father Numitor was overthrown by his brother Amulius, according to the founding myth, he ordered them to be cast into the Tiber. They were rescued by a she-wolf who cared for them until a herdsman, Faustulus, found and raised them.

3. Boudicca: Queen of the Iceni

Boudica, formerly known as Boadicea, (d. AD 60 or 61) was a queen of the Brittonic Iceni tribe of what is now known as East Anglia in England, who led an uprising of the tribes against the occupying forces of the Roman Empire.

4. The Thinker

The Thinker is a bronze and marble sculpture by Auguste Rodin held in the Musée Rodin in Paris. It depicts a man in sober meditation battling with a powerful internal struggle. It is often used to represent philosophy.

5. Perseus Slaying Medusa

Perseus, the legendary founder of Mycenae and of the Perseid dynasty there, was the first of the mythic heroes of Greek mythology whose exploits in defeating various archaic monsters provided the founding myths in the cult of the Twelve Olympians. Perseus was the hero who killed Medusa and claimed Andromeda, having rescued her from a sea monster.

6. Big Buddha in Kamakura

Constructed in 1252. Of the three giant effigies of Buddha in Japan, it alone remains in orginal form. The Kamakura Daibutsu is roughly 50 feet in height (the face itself over eight feet long) and weighs 93 tons. Upon the head are 656 curls, a traditional characteristic of the Amida Buddha.

7. Poseidon

In Greek mythology, Poseidon was the god of the sea and, as of earthquakes. The name of the sea-god Nethuns in Etruscan was adopted in Latin for Neptune in Roman mythology: both were sea gods analogous to Poseidon. Linear B tablets show that Poseidon was venerated at Pylos and Thebes in pre-Olympian Bronze Age Greece, but he was integrated into the Olympian gods as the brother of Zeus and Hades. Poseidon has many children.

8. Saint Peter ( St. Peter's Basilica )

Ancient statue of St. Peter in St. Peter's Basilica, Rome. Set against the north east pier of the dome is a statue of St. Peter Enthroned, sometimes attributed to late 13th century sculptor Arnolfo di Cambio, with some scholars dating it to the 5th century. One foot of the statue is largely worn away by pilgrims kissing it for centuries.

9. Julius Caesar

Julius Caesar was a Roman military and political leader. He played a critical role in the transformation of the Roman Republic into the Roman Empire. After assuming control of government, he began extensive reforms of Roman society and government. He centralised the bureaucracy of the Republic and was eventually proclaimed "dictator in perpetuity"

10. Colossus of Rhodes

The Colossus of Rhodes was a statue of the Greek god Helios, erected in the city of Rhodes on the Greek island of Rhodes by Chares of Lindos between 292 and 280 BC. It is considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Before its destruction, the Colossus of Rhodes stood over 30 meters (107 ft) high, making it one of the tallest statues of the ancient world.

We've Been ATTACKED! Malware and other Viruses

I guess we're starting to ruffle some feathers! Our site was hacked and infected with malware over the weekend. What a nightmare! All is okay though as we were able to catch it early and remove it. Our low prices must have upset some of our competitors because we're pretty sure it was done by one of them. We actually had a competitor, ImportLiquidators.com, LifeSizeStatue.com, and displaystatues.com of South Hampton New York steal our website a few years ago and lable it as his own. We're not saying it was them this time but we're always suspicious. They must be mad because they can't compete with our pricing. Our selection. Or our customer service. See what all the fuss is about here!

Loggerhead Turtle for Marina Chain

We created this custom piece for a chain of boat Marinas in Florida. They were used to greet people as they entered the marina on land. The loggerhead turtle is a protected species in florida with many sanctuaries dedicated to helping them recover from injuries from boats and jet skis. We've also sold the piece to an aquarium in North Carolina and a few other places. It's a popular piece. A new version is actually in the works to replace this one as we'd like a more natural looking base. We can custom create pieces to any size or specification. CALL US! 302.738.2190

Top Ten Reasons to Buy a Bronze Sculpture, Statue, or Fountain

10. Limited Production

During the process of these pieces being made the mould has to be broken, this means that no two pieces are exactly alike. And even though they are similar, styles change so pieces regularly stop being reproduced meaning they are usually fairly rare pieces to own.

9. Unique Way to Add Beauty to a Location

Everyone wants to have a beautiful landscape; be it for a home, business, or public park or courtyard. A bronze sculpture, statue, or fountain is a great way to add beauty and elegance to any landscape, garden, or park. Not only does a bronze get attention, it also adds a bit of tranquility that people are just drawn to.

8. Inherent Natural Beauty

Bronze Sculpture has a natural beauty that is unmatched. Bronze sculpture has been around since ancient times and it still holds our fascination as much now as it did then. Seeing a beautiful work of bronze in a park, garden, or landscape inspires people and the imagination. It has become the gold standard for immortalizing and romanticizing the human experience.

7. Bronze has Historical Significance

The advent of bronze in the 3rd millennia BC brought about a huge advancement in metalworking and brought humanity into a more modern era. When you purchase a piece of bronze art, statue or a fountain you are instantly connected to those early beginnings and help to continue the legacy of this magnificent metal alloy.

6. Versatility of Use

Like the ancient cultures that discovered it, our uses for bronze are infinite. Bronze is mainly known for its use as an artistic medium but it's also used for many other things. Architectural elements, boat parts and propellers, automobile elements, musical instruments, and tools are just a few examples of the immense versatility of the bronze alloy. It has been used during every major advancement mankind has had and will continue to do so long into the future.

5. Monumental Sculpture is Iconic

Adding a monumental statue or sculpture to the front of a building instantly makes that location memorable and iconic. A large bronze trumps a large sign every day of the week. People are conditioned to block out signs because there are so many of them. However, a monumental sculpture or statue will always garner attention. This is due to the unique nature of a bronze and because people always remember seeing something out of the ordinary.

4. Bronze has Intrinsic Value

Unlike other materials used for fountains and sculptures, bronze has an inherent value due to the value of the metal contents. Bronze is mostly made of copper which is a commodity that continues to grow in value. So, by getting a piece now, it's value will only increase over time as the metal prices rise. Also, many pieces are very limited production so they will increase in value over time because of their rarity.

3. Owning Bronze is a Status Symbol

Since bronze has intrinsic value due to the metal and the limited production of many of the pieces created, it's often something that not everyone can afford. By purchasing a piece of bronze art or fountain you're telling the world that you've succeeded in life and you're rewarding yourself for all your hard work. A bronze sculpture not only enhances a landscape, it can enhance your standing in the community.

2. Virtually Maintenance Free

Once you've purchased your bronze statue or fountain you've done most of the work. You can put it in place as is or have it professionally installed for added security and stability. And really, that's it. Once in place there's really nothing else to do but enjoy your piece. It will "age" over time and get that statue of liberty look, but it may take 20 or 30 years for it to happen. If you don't want that to happen there are a couple simple solutions to help protect your bronze piece from the elements.

1. It Lasts Forever!

That's right, it really does last forever. Pieces sitting at the bottom of the Mediterranean sea since the Roman and Greek empires are still be pulled up today looking as good as ever. This is due to Bronze's very high resistance to salt water and the elements. So, when you buy a piece of bronze, be it a statue, sculpture, fountain, or fine work of art, you know it will be an heirloom for your family enjoy for many many years to come.

Bronze Sculpture Statue Patina Application Process

This video was taken on our last trip to the foundry. It shows part of the patina process for the bronze statues and sculptures we have. It's a very cool process as you can actually see the metal change before your eyes. People don't always realize the amount of work that goes into creating these pieces but they are all individually hand colored. Just another reason our pricing is so fantastic. You just won't find better prices for truly hand made sculptures or statues.

Custom Bronze Statue of General Joseph O. Shelby

We created this piece for an organization in Waverly, MO that wanted to memorialize the Confederate General. He was placed in a park they had made in the middle of the town. Shelby lived in the town for many years and ran a business there. He is most noted for being the only general to never officially surrender or be defeated at the end of the war. We created this custom sculpture to the clients exact specifications and it turned out great. They were very pleased.
